WHAT IS AN ELECTIVE PRENATAL ULTRASOUND ??
InnerView Ultrasound offers elective 3D/4D prenatal ultrasound services to provide a positive bonding experience for the mother, father, and family members of the unborn baby. We feel that these realistic images provide a connection between parents and baby that can be beneficial to the entire family.
A routine ultrasound should have already been performed to assess the gestational age of the fetus, to identify any fetal anomalies, and to evaluate basic components of fetal anatomy.
Please refer to the article "UNDERSTANDING 3D AND 4D ULTRASOUND".
DOES THIS REPLACE AN ULTRASOUND FROM MY DOCTOR'S OFFICE ??
No. All women seeking an elective 3D/4D ultrasound with InnerView Ultrasound must already be under the care of a healthcare provider for their pregnancy. They must also have already completed a medical, diagnostic ultrasound ordered by their healthcare provider to confirm estimated due date, to screen for fetal anomalies, and to identify any other pregnancy-related issues.

At no time is any elective service provided by InnerView Ultrasound to be used in lieu of a medical, diagnostic ultrasound.
IS IT SAFE ?? ARE THERE ANY RISKS TO ME OR MY BABY ??
Extensive studies over 30 years have found that ultrasound has not been shown to cause any harm to mother or baby. Routine scanning of all pregnancies is now normal throughout the United States. In 3D/4D scanning, the same type and intensity of ultrasound is used as with conventional 2D scanning.
2D, 3D, and 4D ultrasound all utilize sound waves to peek inside the body. A probe placed on the body emits sound waves into the body, listens for the return echo, and generates the image based on the returned data.
For further information, please refer to the article: "UNDERSTANDING 3D ULTRASOUND".
ARE YOU ABLE TO TELL THE SEX OF MY BABY ??
With the experience of thousands and thousands of gender checks (and an overall 99.96% rate of accuracy); we are very confident that we will accurately determine the gender of your baby. Please refer to the GENDER DETERMINATION section of this website for further details.
WHAT IF I DO NOT WANT TO KNOW THE GENDER OF MY BABY ??
That's not a problem either. We understand that some families love a surprise; so It is no problem at all to avoid that area so that gender will be kept a secret.
Just give us a call if you have any questions, concerns, or other special requests regarding this subject.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST ??
We have packages to fit just about any budget. Overall, our elective packages are significantly more affordable than your typical medical ultrasound. Please refer to the PRICING section of this website for current packages and specials.
ARE 3D/4D ULTRASOUNDS COVERED BY INSURANCE ??
Most insurance companies do not cover the cost of elective ultrasound services. Since this is an elective service (and is not intended to be a replacement for your physician-ordered anatomical ultrasound), you will need to pay the cost of this service as an out-of-pocket expense.
If you have a Health Savings Account (HSA) or a Flexible Spending Account (FSA); the cost of our services are usually covered or are reimbursable with an itemized receipt. Please check with your company's HR department for confirmation.
DO I NEED AN APPOINTMENT ??
Yes, appointments are necessary for all of our services.
Our office is open Monday thru Saturday, and evening hours are available for those with busy lifestyles. We don't list specific hours of operation because we try to accommodate reasonable requests under special circumstances.
Please call (610) 408-9100 to book your appointment today.
HOW LONG DOES THE ULTRASOUND TAKE ??
Depending on the package you choose, the actual "scan time" of your ultrasound session will last typically between 10 to 25 minutes. If you have purchased either the Gold or Platinum package, plan on spending about an hour with us as the second half hour will be used to burn the DVD(s) as well as export and print the pictures of your baby.
HOW FAR SHOULD I BE BEFORE I HAVE A 3D/4D ULTRASOUND ??
If you plan on having only one 3D/4D ultrasound, we would recommend booking your appointment between the 26th and 32nd week of the pregnancy. However, excellent images of your baby can be obtained anytime after the 24th week of pregnancy.
Many mothers obtain more than one 3D/4D ultrasound and have images to enjoy from both their second and third trimesters.
WILL I ALWAYS GET BEAUTIFUL PICTURES OF MY BABY ??
Usually, but not always. If the baby is persistently looking face down (toward your spine), it may be difficult to see baby's face. If this happens, trying again within the hour will usually be successful because the baby has had time to turn to a more favorable position.
Every baby scans differently, depending on its gestational age, position, amount of fluid, and mother's condition. We promise to make every effort to obtain the best possible images of whatever parts of the baby that can be seen.
CAN I BRING MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS ??
Yes. In fact, we encourage our clients to invite family and friends to attend the elective 3D/4D ultrasound session. This is an amazing family-friendly experience; one that can be shared with your family and loved ones. (Limit of 5 guests, please.)
WHAT ULTRASOUND EQUIPMENT DO YOU USE ??
We use the acclaimed GE Voluson 730 Expert ultrasound system. The GE Voluson 730 Expert has been seen in television commercials as well as many printed articles from around the world. The Voluson series contains the finest 2D, 3D, and 4D ultrasound machines available.
Please note that many facilities may claim to use "state-of-the-art" equipment when in fact they are using much older or inferior technology.
WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY ??
InnerView Ultrasound has a flexible and fair cancellation policy. If you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment for any reason, we ask that you please give us 48-hours notice.
InnerView Ultrasound reserves the right to charge a $50.00 fee for clients who cancel less than 48-hours prior to their appointments.
